This German science fiction thriller from 1990 is about a big pharmacy company who works on secret genetic engineering experiments to explore the design of artificial life. A female journalist finds out the about the scandal and becomes a target of repression, blackmailing and terror, but she doesn't resist and fights the power...

This films is well done and very thrilling and features some very good German actors like Katharina Thalbach, Heinz Hoenig, Hannelore Elsner and movie veteran Hans-Christian Blech, but the plot itself - a frightening fiction back in 1990 - seems a bit old-fashioned these days. Days have passed and genetic engineering has progressed, so the horror utopia behind this story has been overtaken by reality already. But don't care about this and enjoy this well-made German cyber thriller from the last century!
