'Naoki Kato's third feature film was started after the disaster in 3.11.2011 in Tohoku, Japan. A 9.0 magnitude earthquake occurred, causing a tsunami and radioactivity from the Fukushima nuclear plant scattered. At this point the director lost sight of what kind of film he want to make. He was watching the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in April 2011, asking himself: 'How can I shoot this invisible thing through the camera?' There was no answer. However, he began to create a film again. He was working on an ultra low budget together with friends; only one professional actor appears, the other cast consists of a physical performer, young people wanting to be actors, a teen idol, musicians and Japanese Noise music legends. The film crew are classmates of the film school where he graduated in Tokyo. 2045 Carnival Folklore is a science fiction film, which takes place 100 years after the first atom bombs were dropped in our reality. 2045 Carnival Folklore is official selected and world premiered in 41th Seattle International Film Festival.
