This movie piece things together around the story found in the OVAs and the other movies. But for better comprehension watch in chronologic order. Masterfully directed and scripted, for me it became an artwork, no fanservice, without pretentions but at the same time outstanding, beautiful drawings and a perfectly timed plot.

Violence and blood as usual but used to develop the story, not to sell. No Hollywood style crap camera shots, no wasted graphic resources around futile things. HNK is a love story about mankind, but harsh and raw, and painful. Effects in this movie are subtle, beautiful and meaningful. The line of the drawings is the best of any hnk. After watching all other HNK animes this one left me breathless.

Before watching this movie i still wondered if the manga has untold parts of the story, but now i got the whole plot.
